The desert face
Seven regions. One connected land. Five outer regions surround the Crown Basin and the Returning Depths. Their temples oversee government, collection, preservation, resurrection, protection and stellar study.
Select a region to discover its temple and neighboring lands, or follow a circuit through the sands and heights.
Region A / Khemetra
Akheryn The Crown Basin
A broad inhabited basin gathers Khemetra’s central city, markets, archives and irrigated terraces. Caravans, arcane materials and specialists meet beneath the vast stepped temple.

Temple of the Astral Crown The temple coordinates the seven regions and houses the local Vaghr seat. Open courts, bridges and inhabited galleries connect its monumental levels.

Serekh The Wandering Dunes
Nomadic communities and caravans follow shifting concentrations of magical material across wide dunes. Portable resonant tools help collectors read and work the sands.

Temple of the Buried Sun The temple rises as a lasting landmark above the moving dunes. It receives caravans and gathered materials, and oversees the surrounding collection grounds.
Explore Serekh · 26 views ↗ Enter the Temple of the Buried Sun ↗ The surrounding land Dunes meet the Lazrien suture and a stretch of Eirhallow. Inland, they approach Akheryn’s basin, Vaudrakh’s working sands and the foot of Imenvar’s terraces.

Vaudrakh The Resonant Sands
Rich sand basins support suspended harvesting platforms, workshops and settlements of workers and researchers. Inverted obelisks raise curtains of sand, separating charged materials and gathering their magic into storage cores.

Temple of the Living Current Resonance chambers and great conduits make the temple a center for concentrating sand-borne magic, distributing it and developing new harvesting equipment.
Explore Vaudrakh · 23 views ↗ Enter the Temple of the Living Current ↗ The surrounding land The working basins surround the Brakhal suture and reach short stretches of Iskareth and Lazrien. Rock shelves lead inland toward Akheryn and upward toward Setharyn.

Imenvar The Undying Terraces
Inhabited necropolises occupy successive stone terraces. Mausoleums, homes and conservation workshops hold a society in which living inhabitants and consciously preserved beings share knowledge and work.

Temple of the Unbroken Name The temple preserves bodies, identities and memory. Mummified custodians, scholars and teachers can carry knowledge across centuries.
Explore Imenvar · 33 views ↗ Enter the Temple of the Unbroken Name ↗ Follow daily work and shared knowledge through the terraces, then continue beyond the lamps into the buried necropolis.
The surrounding land Terraces follow the Eirhallow side of Khemetra. Their lower reaches meet Serekh and Akheryn; their upper passages approach Osereth’s chambers and Kharuset’s foothills.

Osereth The Returning Depths
A sheltered rocky depression descends through courts and vast excavated halls. Necromancers study bodily reconstruction and the recovery of a life that has been interrupted.
▲ The great temple
Temple of the Second Breath The temple gathers specialists, energy and surviving bonds for attempts at resurrection. This work differs from the continued existence of a consciously preserved mummy.
Explore Osereth · 17 views ↗ Enter the Temple of the Second Breath ↗ Discover the inhabited courts, the work of reconstruction and the uncertain search for a returning life.
The surrounding land Osereth lies wholly inside Khemetra, enclosed by Akheryn, Imenvar, Kharuset and Setharyn. Ravines and stepped approaches connect the chambers to the surrounding heights.

Kharuset The Sealed Ranges
Compact mountains and deep gorges shelter beasts, breeding grounds and guard strongholds. Certain rock formations require 107 sorcerers to traverse.

Temple of the Stone Vigil Carved into a mountain, the temple oversees passes, trains guards and prepares expeditions. The raising and training of Khemetra’s beasts are central to its work.
Explore Kharuset · 18 views ↗ Enter the Temple of the Stone Vigil ↗ Inhabited terraces, workshops and caravan courts share the mountains with guard training and the patient care of beasts.
The surrounding land The ranges surround the Durnakhar suture and extend along parts of Eirhallow and Iskareth. Foothills descend toward Imenvar, gorges reach Osereth and high ground opens into Setharyn.

Setharyn The Starward Expanse
Elevated desert plateaus offer long horizons for observatories, instrument fields and research settlements. Stellar sorcerers explore other planes in search of beings and cultures.
▲ The great temple
Temple of the Distant Constellations Suspended rings and tall spires surround the temple’s monumental core. Its researchers direct stellar observation and study possible connections beyond Veyrath.
Explore Setharyn · 24 views ↗ Enter the Temple of the Distant Constellations ↗ Across the long night, 127 inhabited moons fill Khemetra’s sky. Magical travel requires particular planar alignments; observation does not guarantee a passage.
The surrounding land The plateaus follow much of the Iskareth suture. They connect Kharuset’s mountains with Vaudrakh’s technical basins and descend toward Akheryn and Osereth.
